The three works below were all finished in November, 2020. The first two are called "Two Pond Farm" and "Farm near the Woods" respectively. They are acrylic on canvas and do not represent any place in particular. The final work shows how my style and techniques still vary very much - I was very impressed with Mont Saint-Michel when we were in France a couple of years ago. I began this work in oil, but then bailed out and finished it in colored pencil.

These five acrylic paintings are all from August, 2020. We returned to Stone Lion Studio West early in August. I hadn't painted much in the last 5 months, so I was raring to go. These paintings are in chronological order, top to bottom, and as you can see, I started out in abstraction and ended up retreating back into imagery.
The titles are: (top to bottom) Solar Event # 1, 2, and 3, Bumpy Road near a Woods, and finally, Cape Cod Redux.

This is the first painting done at Stone Lion Studio West, in New Mexico, since we moved here permanently on August 1st of this year. (11 days ago.) I call the painting "Solar Event #1, August, 2020. Acrylic on paper. 18" x 24". Alas, Stone Lion Studio East is no longer since we sold the house with the attached studio. It had given me an opportunity to work larger. I will soon be seeking a similar larger space to create a new, improved Stone Lion Studio out here in New Mexico.

This is an oil painting from 2006. I did it from a photo I took in 2004 on North Stradbroke (Straddie) Island, New South Wales, not too far off the coast from Brisbane, Australia. I fondly remember this day at the beach with wife and youngest son who was on a study program in Australia at the time.
If you click on to enlarge, you can see people frolicking in the surf!

The sketch below was from August, 2019, with the Columbus Urban Sketchers at the sketch event at Jeffrey Mansion, in Bexley, Ohio. There was also a nice park on the surrounding land of this mansion. It was a nice day with some good people and a fun event. I remember it fondly. I believe there might be house tours, but we all pretty much stayed outside to sketch on a beautiful day. It is basically just ink on paper.
